I am completely with you on your pro-science, pro-climate, anti-Trump agenda. There's something you need to know about electric and hybrid cars, however. They need refinement for the safety of driver and passengers who, in many cases, are now experiencing unnecessarily high levels of electromagnetic fields. According to the great majority of peer-reviewed studies--70 to 90% are showing effects on neurology (brain and body), reproduction and development, genetics, and increased oxidative stress and formation of free radicals (which can lead to serious life-impacting conditions like cancer, alzheimers, parkinsons, etc.). Joel Moskowitz who heads the prevention research center at UCBerkeley School of Public Health is an international expert and spokesman for the International Commission on the Biological Effects of EMF. You can see the summary and details on his site: https://www.saferemr.com/2018/02/effects-of-exposure-to-electromagnetic.html. The old idea, originating in the 80s, that these EMFs cannot impact biological systems unless they are intense enough to cause heating is passé, gone, adhered to only by those who stand to gain economically or strategically (check out the March 8th "60 Minutes"). EV and hybrids need to be engineered to prevent/minimize the exposure to auto inhabitants over the long term. https://www.saferemr.com/search?q=electric+cars. (The more "bells and whistles" a gas powered car has, the more they, too, can emit such fields.). It's important to pursue adjustments that can be made to protect inhabitants while driving. The whole super-saturation of our environment with man-made EMF is an additional concern that should be on the table. Please see the recommendations on the Swedish SINTEF site: https://www.sintef.no/projectweb/em-safety/share with Bill McKibben and other scientists and engineers on your team.
